Course Pre-requisites:
Rock School is not suitable for complete beginners. Typically, instrumentalists should have been learning their instruments for at least a year and have a reasonable level of confidence playing rudiments appropriate to their chosen instrument. Vocalists should be confident enough to sing in front of others and demonstrate reasonable pitch and rhythmic sensibility. If you have any doubts about the suitability of the project for a particular applicant please contact us to discuss details – we will be happy to help you decide!
Terms and conditions:
1. To ensure the success of the project, which depends largely on group integrity and continuity, Rock Schools UK Ltd. adheres strictly to a policy of either full payment in advance, or a signed commitment to complete payment by the end of term, whether by standing order or any other method we may from time to time agree to arrange. This means strictly no refund once registration is completed except where stated in para.2 of these terms and conditions. Please note that this clause applies even where a child decides to pull out of the course mid-term, or if they are excluded under clause 10. below.
2. Acceptance for registration purposes does not guarantee a place on the course. In the event that we are unable to offer a place, course fees will be promptly refunded in full.
3. Our tutors are instructed to take every precaution to ensure your child's safety for the duration of the sessions. However, parents and guardians must understand that this may not be possible outside the scheduled session times. Transport arrangements must ensure both punctual arrival and prompt collection of your child before and after sessions. For our part, we undertake to start and end sessions on time.
4. Unless sanctioned by the Project Director, only registered participants are allowed into the studios during sessions.
5. Participants are advised to bring drinking water or canned drinks, but, as a safety measure, must leave these outside the studios during the sessions. (Tutors are under instructions to provide for re-hydration breaks at appropriate intervals during sessions.)
6. No food is permitted in the studios.
7. No smoking is permitted in the studios.
8. We have a zero-tolerance policy on drug-abuse. Use of non-prescribed drugs or alcohol during sessions is in itself sufficient cause for instant exclusion from the project.
9. We will not countenance bullying in any form and all group members are expected to treat each other in a mutually supportive manner.
10. Rock Schools UK Ltd. reserves the right to exclude any participant for the remainder of the term if, in the view of the project director, the individual concerned has persistently behaved in a manner that has an adverse effect on any other group member. In all but the most extreme cases, such exclusion would be actioned only as a last resort, and only after due consultation with parents/guardians.
11. At any time on the course or in jam sessions, or at performance events organised by Rock Schools UK Ltd. we may choose to take photographs or make video or sound recordings of participants for use on our website or in printed publicity materials. Your acceptance of these conditions implies your agreement to our using these images or recordings free of charge or any other conditions. Please note that use of materials covered in this clause may extend beyond the time your child is actually on the course.
If you have any questions on any aspect of the project or would like to offer feedback, whether positive or negative please contact the Project Director: Nick Minnion. Tel: (01273) 555 659 or Email: nick@brightonrockschool.com
